China joins Cobra Gold 2024 military exercise in Thailand

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) participated in the tabletop exercise of the Cobra Gold 2024 multinational exercise in Thailand on Tuesday.

The representatives from Chinese troops joined the exercise, together with other participants from eight countries including the United States and Thailand.

This tabletop exercise was carried out based on the earthquake rescue. The PLA has been invited to participate in the multinational exercise Cobra Gold since 2014.During the exercise scheduled from Feb 10 to March 7 this year, the Chinese army plans to join engineering assistance, tabletop exercise of humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and live drills under the scenarios of building collapsing, hazardous substances leakage, first aid, and fire rescue.
