







In honoring the International Workers' Day, which falls on May 1, 2026, a collective blood donation ceremony by staff of the Ministry of Labour was held in the morning on April 28 at the Nay Pyi Taw (1,000-bed) People's Hospital.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister U Khin Maung Soe, Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Aye Tun, Deputy Minister of Labour U Maung Maung Than, Directors-General, and departmental officials. In line with the state policies, the Ministry of Labour is working comprehensively for the benefit of both employers and workers.
Additionally, by promoting awareness of the nobility and benefits of blood donation and helping save many lives, the Ministry is contributing to social welfare efforts. At the collective blood donation event held at the Nay Pyi Taw (1,000-bed) People's Hospital, 72 staff members from the Ministry of Labour donated blood.
The Union Minister, Deputy Ministers, and Directors-General provided medicines and nutritional supplies to the blood donor staff and showed their support for the collective blood donation efforts. Afterwards, the Union Minister donated 3 million kyats to the responsible officials of the Nay Pyi Taw (1,000-bed) People's Hospital, and the hospital presented a certificate of honor in return, it’s reported.
