Effort for edible oil sufficiency: MoALI UM met with officials of DA and DALMS

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung together with Yangon Region Minister for economic Affairs U Myo Myint Aung met with the Deputy and Assistant Staff Officers of the Department of Agriculture and Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics at MCC Hall in Min Dhamm Road of Yangon in the afternoon on 7th of May.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said that the Ministry is implementing edible oil crops special zones under the guidance of the State for the sufficiency of domestic edible oil. In order to implement the policies and projects for the food security, the accurate and correct agricultural data and figures are needed.

The Department of Agriculture and Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics are to collect the actual ground cultivated acres, list of the crops, harvested acres in crop yielding and the amount of yielding systematically in line with the relevant techniques.

It's needed to focus on the proven date and accurate statistics. Moreover, it’s needed to be responsible for the collected statistics.Next, the Directors General of the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics discussed the matters on the work procedures and the Union Minister coordinated requirements submitted by the personnel, it’s reported.
