World Expo 2020 is scheduled to take place in October in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Expo will be held under the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. It is a platform to encourage creativity, innovation and collaboration across the three subthemes: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability. Over 190 countries around the world, including Myanmar, are going to participate in this 6-month long exhibition.

Each participating country will have their respective pavilion to display their national contents. Myanmar will have a pavilion at the Opportunity District of the Expo, and will inspire visitors by showcasing the significant culture, deep history and value of its people.

Visitors will be able to explore a variety of murals, embroidery, textiles, and lacquerware integral to Myanmar culture. Beyond their pavilions, countries will also contribute to the broader Expo 2020 programming, using the performance venues and spaces across the site to expand visitor’s knowledge of their cultures.

Originally slated from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, the Expo 2020 has been rescheduled from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Expo 2020 Dubai is the first World Expo held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region. It is expected to welcome millions of visitors. The World Expo provides a unique opportunity for people from diverse backgrounds to meet, create friendships, forge partnerships and build a brighter tomorrow.
