Hong Kong WinterFest to kick off on Friday

Hong Kong WinterFest will kick off on Friday next week and run through New Year's Day with a variety of attractions and festive events. They include a waterfront pyrotechnic edition of "A Symphony of Lights" along Victoria Harbour.

Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the 10-minute marine fireworks display will light up the night sky at 8 p.m. on eight days next month, including Saturdays and Sundays as well as Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

A Christmas Town will also take over the harbor front of the West Kowloon Cultural District with a giant Christmas tree and other whimsical displays. Shopping, dining and hotel offers and discounts will be up for grabs on the WinterFest's official website.
