Illegal Trade: Illegal Items, Vehicles And Timber Seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the25th, 26th and 27th of June, undeclared household appliances, medicines without the Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards of FDA, foodstuffs without any official documents, undeclared toilet accessories, restricted chemicals, unregistered vehicles and illegal timber were seized at the container terminal of Asia World Port and also in Ngwesaung Township, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined checkpoint as well as in Kachin State, in Sagaing township and in Bago and Thayawady districts. In total, illegal items, vehicles and timber worth over 26 million Kyats were seized on the 25th, 26th and 27th of June. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
