An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On 29 November, an on-duty team under the supervision of the Customs Department captured industrial materials without an import licence from a container at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint and 3,200 baby backpacks that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) from a container at Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa (MITT).

on 30 November, a combined on-duty team confiscated foodstuffs and consumer goods without official documents from a Toyota HiAce car heading from Myawady to Yangon at the Thanlwin Bridge (Hpa-an) combined checkpoint and 60 cooking pans (red) without official documents from a vehicle heading from Myawady to Yangon at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined checkpoint.

A combined team impounded industrial materials without official documents from a vehicle at the Muse 105th-Mile Trade Zone.

On 1st December at the Mayanchaung Permanent checkpoint in Mon State, officials seized lady sandals that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) from a Nissan Diesel Tractor Head and a trailer heading from Myawady to Yangon.

A total of 5.27 tonnes of illegal timbers was nabbed in Bago and Nyaunglebin districts. Therefore, 12 arrests (estimated value of 257.887 million Kyats) were made on three consecutive days on 29, 30 November and 1st December, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
