Mong Ton Floods: 50 houses were flooded due to torrential rain

The torrential rain caused surging the water level of Namt Kom creek flowing into Monton and flooding in Mong Ton, Palaung Self-Administered Zone of Shan State at about 3 am on 8th August.

Myo bridge, low-lying areas along the creek as well as houses and shops in downtown were flooded. The township Fire Brigade members conducted rescue measures during the flood and cleaning up of silts and mud for the smooth transportation for people.

Floods always happens in Mong Ton once a year during the rainy season. This year, 50 houses were flooded and it has been reported that there were no casualties of humans and animals.
