Myanmar-China border trade fair: Plan to organize in October this year through online

Myanmar (Lashio)-China (Linchang) border trade fair will be organized online in October this year under the supervision of the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization of the Ministry of Commerce and Lincang provincial government. 

According to the LOI signed virtually by Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization of the Ministry of Commerce and Lincang provincial government in 2020, the two sides agreed to organize trade fairs in rotation.

Thet Lwin Oo, Director, Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization said "We have started to organize the trade fair since 2019 and held in Lashio. In 2020 and 2021, China (Linchang) hosted the fairs. According to the agreement, we make arrangements for continuous holding of the event. Before, we have planned to hold the event physically and virtually. But, due to the current COVID-19 situation, we have a plan to organize only online event."

At the trade fair, Linchang has a plan to display regional products, industrial products, green tea and traditional costumes. Myanmar will showcase wooden furniture, gems and jewelleries and agricultural produces such as corns, sesame, rice and marine products.

According to the official of Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization, they have invited Mandalay region Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Shan State (North) Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Kokang Ethnics Entrepreneurs Association to take part in the  event for displaying booths and they will also conduct online training for the event.
