NASA's Black Brant XII blasted off from a launchpad in the US state of Virginia on Sunday on a mission to help scientists learn more about how energy and momentum travel in space. The four-stage rocket lifted off from Wallops Island, Virginia, after several delays in recent days due to poor weather conditions. The space agency has said that around 9-10 minutes after Sunday's launch, the rocket at an altitude of 217-249 miles will release barium vapour to form two green-violet clouds. NASA has said that those clouds will help scientists study atmospheric winds in the upper atmosphere and ionosphere as part of the "KiNET-X" mission.
