The final day of the New Year DhammaThabin in Yangon attracted over 12,000 attendees, who gathered to listen to the sermon delivered by Aung San Sayadaw on April 19th.
The DhammaThabin, organized by the Regional Government, spanned three days at the People’s Square in Dagon Township, with the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda providing a majestic backdrop. Charity feasts were served to all attendees throughout the event.
Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials oversaw the proceedings, offering support to the artists paying obeisance through the singing of religious songs.
Following the sermon, the Chief Minister and wife made donations of offertories, as well as cash contributions from well-wishers. Over 102.6 million kyats in cash donations were received during the ceremony.
