Resoundingly Welcome: Myanmar Paralympic Sports Team arrives back home

Myanmar won 14 golds, 12 silvers and 17 bronzes in the 11th ASEAN Para Games that was held in Solo city, Indonesia from 30th July to 6th August and ranked the 6th at the Games.

The victorious Myanmar sports team led by Chairman of Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation Brig-Gen Hla Moe arrived back in Yangon International Airport by the charter flight of Myanmar National Airlines on Monday morning.

Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Myo Hlaing, Yangon Region Cabinet Ministers, officials of the Department of Sports and Physical Education, athletes from the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon) and officials from Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation resoundingly welcomed them at the airport.

Myanmar grabbed 9 golds, 7 silvers and 11 bronze medals in the athletic sports, 5 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronzes in swimming, 1 bronze in Paralympic football sport event, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in weightlifting and 1 bronze medal in archery, altogether 43 medals and Myanmar missed with medals in the volleyball and goalball events.

The 12th ASEAN Para Games will be hosted by Cambodia in June, 2023.
