Shanghai Implements PCR Testing for All Arriving Railway Passengers

Shanghai currently requires PCR testing for inter-provincial travelers immediately upon arrival.

Under the guidance of the staff, hundreds of passengers scanned the venue code and confirmed that they had the health QR code and a negative nucleic acid report within 48 hours ready before leaving the station.

PCR testing sites has been set up all at 6 entrances and exits in both the north and the south of Hongqiao Railway Station. Another five test sites are distributed on the east and west sides on the arrival floor.

After leaving the station, passengers will go to the nearest sampling site for PCR testing under the guidance of volunteers, according to different transportation they may take. Chen Jianbing, head of PCR test team said that under normal circumstances, they can detect 300 people per hour and the number of PCR tests can reach 50,000 to 100,000 people a day.
