Sri Lanka, CVF and Nativa Capital sign forest protection agreement

A MoU was signed by the Climate Change Office of Sri Lanka, the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) and Nativa Capital of Portugal on farming and forest protection project in Sri Lanka on Tuesday. The project will enhance sustainable, community-scale farming, and forest protection in the South Asian island country.

The project provides support to 15,000 farming families in the Anuradhapura District in a project under the Climate Prosperity plan. The total investment for this project is U.S. $100 million, with each farmer family receiving U.S. $6,000 for equipment and technology including solar powered sprinklers.
