

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited Mandalay on Sunday to meet with the rescue teams from India, China, Russia and Belarus.
The Indian Military Medical Team is providing health assistance to the injured persons by setting up a Field Hospital at the site of Old Airport in Chan Mya Thazi Township. The Prime Minister oversaw the condition of health treatment provided by the Indian Field Medical Team and provided foodstuff to the affected individuals. He also expressed thanks to the Indian Medical Team and presented the commemorative gifts.
Likewise, the China Search and Rescue Team is assisting in the relief measures based in front of Mingala Mandalay Hotel. The Prime Minister thanked the team for assisting in the rescue operation, and presented commemorative gifts. The Leader of Chinese Team also expressed his belief that the situation will regain back to normalcy after overcoming the challenges posed by the disaster under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
They then proceed to the Mandalar Thiri Sports Ground where the Rescue Team from Russia is providing assistance in rescue operation and medical services. The Prime Minister greeted the team members, expressing words of thanks and presenting commemorative gift.
He also greeted the Rescue Team from Belarus and presented the commemorative gift. On arrival at the Maha Myat Muni Buddha Image, the Prime Minister and party offered flower and water. Due to the earthquake, the diamond bud of the pagoda collapsed while the jewels studded in the diamond bud and vane were scattered.
In addition, the ancient mural paintings also fell to the ground. The Prime Minister viewed the damages as well as the display of ancient Pitakas and bronze statues and instructed for speedy renovation and maintenance works. They also viewed the damages of the Maha Myat Muni Buddha Image and religious buildings caused by the powerful earthquake.
The Prime Minister instructed to carry out the renovation works without harming the original style, to make systematic maintenance works and dismantaling of the collapsed buildings at risk. He also stressed to implement the renovation works phase by phase.
He also encouraged the Tatmadawmen and volunteers who participates in the clearing of debris. Then, the Prime Minister and party took a helicopter ride to view the damages caused by the earthquake in mandalay and Kyaukse.
