Widodo visits quake-hit Cianjur as search ongoing

Indonesian President Joko Widodo vowed Tuesday that missing bodies of Monday's earthquake will be recovered after visiting the affected area in Cianjur district.

The death toll from the earthquake that shook the Indonesian island of Java rose to 268 on Tuesday as more bodies were found beneath collapsed buildings, with 151 people still missing, and another 1,083 were injured in the 5.6 magnitude earthquake.Blocked roads and damaged bridges prevented rescuers from bringing excavators and other heavy equipment to the rural area to help dig out survivors.
