Htamane making contest: Ministry of Information organizes the event

The Ministry of Information organized Myanmar traditional sticky rice (Htamane) making competition and festivity at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

At the event, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said that Htamane making contest is conducted in accord with the Myanma tradition and culture, efforts of contestants, generosity, expertise and encouragement of supporters. The Htamane making is a contest revealing cooperation, encouragements and team work.

The Union Minister called on the contestants and supporters to compete unitedly as much as possible with having fun and cooperation whether they win or lose. Later, the Union Minister, the Deputy Minister and officials encouraged competing of five contestant teams of the Ministry office, the Myanma Radio and Television, the Information and Public Relations Department, the Printing and Publishing Department and the News and Periodical Enterprise.

Officials then presented prizes to consolation prize winning teams. Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung later awarded the 3rd prize winning Printing and Publishing Department team and Deputy Minister U Ye Tint presented prizes to the 2nd prize winning Ministry office team. Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn also presented awards to the 1st prize winning Information and Public Relations Department team as well as the special prize to the best supporting News and Periodical Enterprise team.
