Travel Season Opening: Union Minister Attends Ceremonies at Ngwesaung & Chaungtha

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr. Htay Aung on Monday attended the Ngwesaung Beach Travel Season Opening Ceremony at Yamonna Oo Resort in line with the COVID-19 prevention guidelines. At the ceremony in Ayeyawaddy Region, the Union Minister stressed the importance of disposal of garbage and waste for the long-term sustainability of Ngwesaung Beach, changing landscapes through the construction of buildings and air pollution.

Systematic development of domestic tourism will greatly contribute to the socio-economic development of the people, he added. The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has opened Health and Safety Protocol-HSP to provide safe services to tourists and staff from the hotels and tourism industry.

He also called on the regional government, business persons and local people to work together to make Ngwesaung Beach an enjoyable place for tourists. After the opening ceremony, the Union Minister also observed the operation of hotels under the COVID-19 guidelines on the beach. On the same day, the Union Minister attended the Opening Ceremony of Travel Season held at Azura Hotel in Chaungtha Beach.
