Providing Assistance: Shan State Gov’t assists for rehabilitation of damaged villages

The Shan State Government provided assistance to residents in Namthu Village of Hopone in Shan State (South) on Thursday.

Chief Minister U Aung Aung pledged to assist with rehabilitation measures and called for the cooperation of local residents in implementing community peace and tranquility. The provisions included cash assistance and foodstuff. Similar assistance was also provided to residents in PanLyan Village and Kyaukkachar Village.

Starting February 16th, the PNLO, KNDF, and PDF terrorists stationed themselves in the Pa-O villages in Maene Hill of Hopone Township, disguised as local villagers and using residential houses as barriers. Their actions became intolerable, and local Pa-O nationals informed the Tatmadaw. Responding to this information, the Tatmadaw and PNO transformed People’s Militia jointly conducted operations to ensure regional control and security. In response to these operations, the PNLO, KNDF, and PDF terrorists launched arson attacks, destroying Pa-O villages, killing innocent locals, and forcefully looting their properties.
